What can I expect during my pet’s laser therapy treatment? The number and duration of laser treatments will depend on your pet’s condition. While some conditions (e.g., post-surgical incision healing) may require only one treatment, most chronic conditions require multiple treatments. For example, if your pet is receiving laser therapy for osteoarthritis, they will generally visit weekly until we see a noticeable improvement. Then, routine “tune-ups” will help keep them comfortable. Some pets require monthly treatments, while others may need only quarterly sessions to keep pain and inflammation at bay.

Depending on the condition being treated, your pet’s laser therapy session may only take a few minutes, or can take up to half an hour. Each site generally receives less than a minute of direct treatment.
